Stargazing: The ritual of gazing up at the sky to find meaning in the stars.
I’ve always wanted to know how to read the stars, but having lived in big cities for most of my life, stars are hard to find.
This visual essay connects Chinese and Western astrology and astronomy with my own experiences with stargazing. It is manifested in a stargazing kit specific to my own experiences. The kit contains four elements: the box, the constellation map, the star log, and the stargazing journal/compendium.

An interpretation of excerpts from Marshall McLuhan's "The Medium is the Massage" in the form of a book. Focusing on McLuhan's emphasis on linearity, I created images that utilized the line and were an interpretation of his writing. However, the book itself does not need to be read in a linear fashion; various interactive elements such as card inserts, removable posters, and elements that come out of the book allow for a more exploratory experience.

Larry Mayo is the owner of Mayo Surfboard Company, a surf company that focuses on creating beautifully hand-shaped surfboards. Based in Cocoa Beach, Florida, Larry creates custom boards that are a modern take on the classic boards of the 60s and 70s.
Inspired by the clean design of Larry Mayo's surfboards, surf and visual culture of the 60s and 70s, as well as the wonder of water and waves themselves, I created three design solutions to rebrand Mayo Surfboards.
